Covid and Us

This Covid-19 stuff has been stressful. When Nugget was diagnosed with Autism I did not know exactly what this meant. I knew what Autism was and I knew that we were already dealing with behavior and sensory issues but I was unaware that there was potential for him to have immune system issues. We are going into year 3 of Pre K- ESE and the first two years taught us that the boy catches everything! The Corona has kept us inside for months. We have slowly started to venture out and resume a new "normal".

Since March we have spent countless hours in the pool. Not only has he relearned how to swim and gained more confidence in the water but he now likes to hold onto your leg and touch the bottom of the pool in the shallow end. We have also crafted, colored, painted, started raising chickens, baked, cooked, played and played, and gone out on the boat.

Monkey (sister) resumed dance via Zoom for a while before the studio opened back up with limited class sizes. She has been going to summer camp the last two weeks and has been doing her regular summer classes at night. Shes a trooper, tired, but a trooper, Less than a month until dance team auditions and it's hard to tell who is more nervous! As much as she loves dance, I love seeing her dance. She's talented and dances with her whole heart.

If we have learned anything from the Corona its this; we fight, we cry, but at the end of the day we love with all we have. Being stuck at home together hasn't been easy but it has taught us many lessons. If you caught the part about chickens... I will talk about the insanity of raising chickens soon!

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!
